About the Eighth Grade Concert Band

The Eighth Grade Concert Band is the advanced band at the junior high school.  Emphasis is on technique and tone development, and special emphasis is placed on ensemble listening and musicianship throughout the year.  The main goal of the eighth grade concert is prepare students for the Roxbury High School Instrumental Music Program. The Eighth Grade Concert Band performs at the fall, winter, and spring band concerts, as well as at selected concert band festivals throughout the year.

About the Seventh Grade Concert Band

The Seventh Grade Concert Band is the starting level band at the junior high school.   Emphasis is on attention to detail, building appropriate practice habits, and tone development.  The band plays a variety of selections, both classical and modern, though more advanced selections are occasionally selected when ensemble ability merits.  The Seventh Grade Concert Band performs at the fall, winter, and spring band concerts, as well as at various concert band festivals throughout the year.
